01 / Findings

What the records show.

This study follows one app across four sources. It compares what each source displayed, while keeping their metrics and reporting dates distinct.

01

A milestone is a band.

The developer saw 10K+ on Google Play on the morning of 11 October and 50K+ on a later check that same day. The Console export reported 50,429 cumulative new users through 9 October. The public badge is a category, and the Console figure is a separately defined user metric. [1] [4]

02

The displays differed.

Chrome-Stats showed 49,971. AppBrain showed 50 thousand in its main total, while its FAQ still described Google Play as 10,000+. The published figures were not fully synchronized. [2] [3]

03

Backfill remains unproven.

The available records do not establish whether either tracker revised older estimates. A changed latest total alone cannot reveal whether historical values changed, or whether a badge change caused a recalculation.

02 / Developer data

Crossing the line.

The later Play Console export reports 49,976 cumulative new users on 5 October and 50,081 on 6 October. That dates the crossing for this metric, not the exact moment the public badge changed.

Four sources. Dated separately.

These figures were checked or reviewed on 11 October. A tracker’s update date does not necessarily identify how recent its underlying installation data is.

One page, two signals. AppBrain’s main total said “50 thousand,” but its FAQ said Google Play listed “10,000+” installs. This records an inconsistency within the page. It does not reveal how AppBrain’s estimation system works.

Chrome-Stats’ displayed value was 29 below 50,000. That is a small snapshot mismatch. It does not establish missing installs, a fixed delay, or a general accuracy rate.

Before the badge changed

Earlier observations are preserved from the developer’s dated research notes. They provide context for the comparison; original historical page captures are not included here.

The visible badge changed on 11 October 2026. The developer checked Google Play that morning and saw 10K+, then checked again later the same day and saw 50K+. These eyewitness observations use Jamaica time. The exact clock time of the change was not recorded. The Console first crosses 50,000 cumulative new users on 6 October, but the metrics and reporting clocks differ, so this does not establish an exact badge-update delay.

04 / Method & limits

Read the numbers in context.

This is a publisher-authored, observational case study of YAADMAN – Jamaican Multiplayer. It is a record of one app’s milestone window.

What was compared

The study brings together a developer-supplied Play Console export, public listing checks and earlier observations transcribed from dated research notes. The public Google Play, Chrome-Stats and AppBrain figures shown here were checked on 11 October 2026. The badge-change date is supported by the developer’s same-day eyewitness checks: 10K+ in the morning and 50K+ later that day.

Google defines new users as users installing the app for the first time. Its installation statistics use Pacific Time. That definition does not establish the exact counter behind the public download badge. [5]

Chrome-Stats describes its reports as third-party marketplace estimates and notes that source values may be rounded or delayed. Its public methodology does not establish the cause of this app’s particular mismatch. [6]

  • Different metricsA public download band, cumulative new users and tracker totals are not established as the same underlying count.
  • Different clocksObservation date, Console reporting date and tracker update date are recorded separately. A later page date does not guarantee fresher installation data.
  • Limited historical evidenceEarlier tracker entries come from preserved notes. Rechecking a current total cannot verify whether old history was rewritten.
  • One app, one windowThese observations do not establish a universal delay, a tracker accuracy percentage, or a causal effect of crossing 50K.
Why does the earlier Console figure differ by four?

The earlier research record lists 45,943 cumulative new users for 23 September. The later supplied export reports 45,947 for that same date, a difference of four. Both readings are retained with their evidence labels. The chart uses the later export throughout.

This is a reason to preserve versions when comparing statistics. It is not evidence that a third-party tracker revised its history.

How are the dates recorded?

Study observation dates use America/Jamaica. Console installation dates use Pacific Time, following Google’s documentation. Tracker dates are reproduced as displayed; their timezone and underlying installation cutoff are not established.

For the Console export, 11 October is the date the supplied file was received and reviewed for this study. Its original export timestamp is not established. Exact check times were not retained for every historical observation.

What would establish a historical tracker revision?

We would need two independently preserved versions of a tracker’s history showing different values for the same historical date, with the metric and scope held constant. A rising latest total is insufficient.

The historical views available for this study did not provide enough comparable dated values to establish that result. There is no confirmed conclusion about backfill or a badge-triggered correction.
